Angel has some New Arrivals from Desigual this week — probably the last of the Summer 2017 season. They include the Exotic White denim coat for women, some vegan leather coats (with a removable hoodie) for men, and one men’s linen sport jacket (size 54 — 44 in North America), which also has a removable hoodie. The Gastown Shop Hop always reminds me of “sock hop,” a high school ritual in the 1960s — kids would take off their shoes and dance to records in the school gymnasium at lunch time. It was a simpler time when Bobby Vee, who died last year, was a teen idol. One of Vee’s early touring band members called himself Elston Gunnn (his real name was Bob Zimmerman, later changing it to Bob Dylan). Vee scored 38 Top 100 hits and 10 in the Top 20, including Devil or Angel in 1960:
