Desigual has chosen a teenage model from Canada with a rare skin condition to show off some of its Fall-Winter collection for 2014.
Chantelle Brown-Young of Toronto was diagnosed with vitiligo before she started school. She grew up bullied by kids who cruelly nicknamed her “zebra” and “cow” because of the white patches covering her face and body.Chantelle, whose real name is Winnie Harlow, is a contestant on the TV show America’s Next Top Model, where she made this video, explaining, “A lot of people have a story or a background but mine is painted on my body”:She first made a video about her skin condition in 2011 called Vitiligo: A Skin Condition, Not a Life Changer:She describes herself as a “vitiligo spokesmodel.” Click here to learn more info about the skin condition, including Famous Vitigans such as Michael Jackson.
