Imagine this is the view out of your office window every day. It was taken from inside Desigual headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, which I visited in April. The new building, which opened last year, is on a stretch of sandy beach lined with palm trees in Barceloneta, right next door to the W Hotel.
Angel Vancouver was the only store from Canada invited to attend a meeting at Desigual HQ. Most of the store owners were from France, Italy, England and across Europe. At the end of the first day, after our meeting wrapped up, we were invited up to the roof deck for some “fun.” They served drinks (mojitos) and asked everyone to paint a T-shirt. They gave us a blank T-shirt in our size and put it on an easel overlooking the beach. They also gave us lab coats to keep The paint off our clothes — there were a selection of spray cans and stencils. Here I am painting my shirt, along with a few of the other guests:

I’m going to post Part 2 about my tour inside Desigual headquarters, plus more photos of Barcelona itself.

The slogan of the Bacelona-based Desigual is La Vida es Chula (Life is Cool)! Desigual explains: “The slogan reflects Desigual’s way of thinking that is inevitably influenced by the Mediterranean, the sun, light, passion and a lust for life. A philosophy of life that reflects a way of dressing: fun, fresh, original and always instilled with a happy, playful and creative attitude…Be confident, don’t be afraid to be yourself.”
Today’s music video is Loca by Colombian star Shakira, which I’ve included because it was filmed along the beach of Barceloneta and the streets of Barcelona: And one more music video — the song Barcelona by Freddie Mercury, the late singer for Queen, and Spanish opera diva Montserrat Caballé:
Amazing!! I’m such a huge Barcelona and Desigual fan, I believe this was amazing for you – I would probably faint from happines in your place 🙂 !
