Gregg Allman died last month, A founding member of the Allman Brothers with his brother Duane, they exploded into stardom in 1971:
Gregg went solo and was briefly married to Cher after his brother died. At 16, Cameron Crowe toured with the Allman brothers to write a cover story for Rolling Stone, which he captured in his screenplay for the 2000 movie Almost Famous:
