This weekend will be the last blast of summer before the kids head back to school next week. Angel is offering 50% off all Desigual women’s and men’s swimsuits, and all Desigual for kids for back-to-school shopping.

A new shipment of Desigual pieces designed by Barcelona artist Miranda Makaroff arrived Sept. 8. Some are for customers who werelooking for specific sizes and some are new pieces we haven’t had in stock before.
We have a limited number of sizes and styles of the Makaroff line.
Gastown Unplugged music series, Summer 2020.
Gastown Unplugged is a free outdoor concert series that will be in full swing this weekend. Many of the musicians will be playing in front of our store in the City-of-Vancouver’s new Maple Tree Square Pop-Up Plaza, which was created by blocking off traffic on Carrall Street, which runs on the west side of Angel.
There are four new outdoor patios on Carrall for the Irish Heather, L’Abatoir, The Greek and the Blarney Stone. With all the new patios in Gastown, we now have 500 outdoor seats. We’ve dubbed it “Patiotown” for the summer.
Here’s a sampling of our new arrivals designed by the zany Ms. Makaroff, who unveiled this collection last year at the Miami Art Basil inside an inflatable vagina that Miranda designed and Desigual built for her.

This week I painted a number of kids shirts for custom orders. I only had time to paint one adult shirt – the Angel Heart (below) that I painted on the outside of the store during the pandemic shutdown. It’s for sale in the store.

I know, it’s a bad transition but here’s Cajun tunesmith Tony Joe White playing his 1969 hit, Polk Salad Annie (southerners call it polk “sallet” but maybe the guy doing the song title thought Tony was sayin’ salad. It happened to this Dutch band, George Baker Selection, whose lead singer sang “little greenbacks” – slang for American currency – but the song was released as Little Green Bag:
