Today’s music is the same as last Christmas: River by Canadian icon Joni Mitchell:
While not a Christmas song, River evokes the spirit of the season. Joni, who had a brain aneurysm last year, has recovered enough to attend a recent Chick Corea concert, which is good news. Here’s one more song by Joni, Carey, written while she lived in a cave in Matala, a tiny fishing village on the island of Crete in Greece (click here for photos of the caves then). She had just broken up with her boyfriend, Graham Nash, and lived in a cave for two months in 1970 with a young American man named Cary Raditz, now 70:
