Desigual has released a new video showing artists painting models wearing new spring-summer 2013 clothes on the outside of Desigual’s store in Manhattan. Once finished, the models tower five-storeys high over those walking by on the street.
The models are from Desigual’s “lookbook” catalogue for the spring-summer 2013 collection, which we carry at our Angel Vancouver store, located on the west coast of Canada. Our second spring shipment just arrived this week, so stay tuned for more pix.

We’re taking a break from commercialism today to bring you a video of Golden Brown by The Stranglers, a favourite late ’70s to early ’80s British band that opened for the first British tours of American punks The Ramones and Patti Smith. We called it New Wave, but they arose from the punk scene.

We just got this top in yesterday and a couple from Chicago bought two today. They said they had been talking about the top on their way to Vancouver. It’s been a real hit with kids.

Platform shoes seem to be making a comeback in Barcelona, looking at the latest photos posted on the WWD website.
They were also seen recently on the streets of Tokyo during fashion week there.
Or maybe platforms never really died off — somewhere in the world, another group is trying to revive the style.
After all, it was the ancient Greeks who first wore platform shoes on the stage to raise the importance of the star characters. But for some, they are the ultimate symbol of the disco era of the 1970s.
